With just weeks left before Election Day, there is a big legal war going on that could eliminate a large chunk
of Florida's campaign finance laws. There are now two federal lawsuits that - if successful - could allow
groups and organizations to spend money to attack or help candidates and to mount campaigns for
and against constitutional amendments without ever having to report to the state who is bankrolling their efforts. (None of these efforts, of course,
would impact filing requirements for the IRS.)
