There are a number things the public "knows" as we head into the election that are just false.
If people elect leaders based on false information, the things those leaders do in office
will not be what the public expects or needs

NEW YORK — The U.S. Department of Labor has sued Beacon Associates Management Corp
., Andover Associates Management Corp., Ivy Asset Management LLC, J.P. Jeanneret Associates Inc.
and the principals of the four companies for causing dozens of pension, health
and other employee benefit plan clients to lose hundreds of millions of dollars
through investments with Bernard L. Madoff and his firm.

But Haridopolos said he was only talking about legislation that had been widely approved by state lawmakers,
such as a bill that would have made it easier for agricultural land owners to hold on to a property tax break.
Only two legislators voted against the measure.

Senate President-to-be Mike Haridopolos hires three new staffers

who are double dippers - St. Petersburg Times

TALLAHASSEE — A year ago state lawmakers passed a law to ban "double dipping''
among public employees. This week Senate President-to-be Mike Haridopolos announced
the addition of veteran staffers who will be double dippers. Double dipping is where employees
collect retirement checks while working full-time. All three of the new Senate employees
will be earning six-figure salaries.
