1:10 P.M. — WASHINGTON - As if voters don't have enough to be angry

about this election year, the government is expected to announce this week

that more than 58 million Social Security recipients nationwide -

and an estimated 130,000 in Lee County - will go through another year

without an increase in their monthly benefits.

This past February, President Barack Obama signed an executive order

that established the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.

The fundamental goal of the commission is to identify and propose policies that

will ensure America’s long-term fiscal sustainability.
